Home Education
My daughter did not attend school for a single day, being entirely educated by me at home. She gained eight iGCSEs at A*, followed by attending a college of further education, where she took four A Levels. For three of these she got A* and for the other an A. After this, she attended Oxford University, where she studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics. After graduating with a First, she took a Masters' degree. also at Oxford, for which she gained a distinction. She is now in her final year of a PhD.
I have written articles for newspapers on the subject of home education and been interviewed about it in newspapers, on radio and also on television. In October 2009, I gave evidence about home education to the Children, Schools and Families Select Committee. I have also written the only academic book on the subject of home education in the United Kingdom; Elective Home Education in the United Kingdom, Trentham Books 2010. It may be found here. Below are a few newspaper pieces and interviews about home education.
